Vestness, site specific installation, Orkney Islands, February 2013
The work was made for Papay Gyro Festival at the remote island Papay Westray in February 2013. The installation is in a cow house at an abandoned farm, where the many plastic pipes on the truss are turned into organ pipes. Compressed air is being sent into the pipes and creates slow changing harmonies. It is loud! You are met by a wall of sound as you enter the place but the harmonies changes continuously because the pipes points in all directions, activating every single corner in the room and also changes because of the control system of the air being sent into the pipes. The work is based on the system that I developed for the installation under and customised to the place. The project was supported by Bergen Kommune.
